FAQ: How does reporting work?

A maintenance person notices an issue while doing rounds. How do they report it?

Maintenance persons can easily report issues using the FixMate Reporter app on their mobile device. They can report an issue by using a QR code or by navigating to fixmate.app within the browser on their device. See the reporter’s quick guide for detailed instructions.

Can a property owner who doesn’t live in the building create a ticket?

Yes. Owners can create a ticket using the Reporter app.

  • Verified owners can also see an overview of all tickets for their properties, including tickets submitted by other people, as well as reports and statistics for their properties. Check out the owner’s quick guide for more information.
As a property manager, can I report an issue?

Yes. Property managers can report issues in two ways: by using the FixMate Reporter app on a mobile device or the FixMate Management application on a computer or tablet. See Creating maintenance tickets for detailed instructions.

A person unrelated to the property (e.g. a guest or visitor) notices an issue and wants to report it. What should they do?

It’s easy for anyone to report an issue using the QR codes displayed throughout the property. They can simply scan the code with their mobile device and submit a maintenance ticket, even without an account.

Tip: If someone is unable to scan the QR code, they can use the property ID or address, which is listed next to the QR code along with reporting instructions.

A tenant cannot or does not want to use the FixMate Reporter app. How should they report issues?

In this case, the tenant can report an issue using traditional methods - for example, by phone. A manager can then input the issue into the FixMate system on their behalf. See Creating maintenance tickets for detailed instructions.

A reporter can’t scan the QR code. How do they create a ticket?

The QR code automatically fills in the property address and unit, but this can easily be done manually.

Check out the reporter’s quick guide for detailed instructions.
